It all began way back in 1988.With two young children I was a stay at home Mum, but I wanted a means to contribute to the family income without having to go out to work, so I drew on my background of textile design and embroidery to produce a range of handmade cards which I sold at craft fairs around the country.
The business developed as the children grew up and in 1996, I was joined by my husband Bob as a full time business partner. His background was also in design and illustration which made him an invaluable addition at a time when the business was expanding into the trade side.
We now have outlets in many craft and gift shops, galleries and visitor centres throughout the country and a thriving mail order business.
We still find time to attend some craft shows which gives us a valuable chance to meet our customers.
Today, all of our products are still designed and handmade by ourselves, with help from our two talented friends, Barbara and Fiona, here at our cottage at Blacketyside Farm near Leven in Fife.
Finally, a note to our local customers and visitors to the Embroidery Workshop - as of September 2010, we no longer have a shop as such open to the public at the Embroidery Workshop. However we can still take orders over the phone for collection here at an arranged time. The number to call is 01333 423985. And of course we will happily post your order out as we do with all the website orders.
We are still here and working just as hard (if not harder!) - just behind the scenes now.
